Change is the only constant In terms of reaching my ideal career goal, it is important to build my skills, because after all I haven’t reached my purpose due to the fact that I am lacking certain skills or experience. In this fast paced world i need to be ahead of my game in order to achieve the success that I seek. Some people find an introductory training course is useful and it can be. My theory in the matter is that you are better learning the basics by yourself and attending an intermediate or advanced course in order to hone your skills. It is much better to have an expert explain the hard bits to you, than the easy bits or to go for a master’s degree in management and learn how to be professional, act like professional, talk like professional, and walk the talk. In terms of soft skills, I need to be developing these at every opportunity. At no stage in my career will these be perfect. There is always room for improvement. These include: Communication skills Teamwork skills Leadership skills Negotiation skills Time management Being proficient in these areas will never cease to be of benefit to me. Change is the only constant I have a problem verbalizing what is in my head. It often comes out like gibberish or I will stop half way through a sentence and go off on a massive tangent then forget what I was talking about. That all happens to me because I m still not fluent in English language, thus I found it an important opportunity to turn this point of weakness into a point of strength.
