Matt Ricard Megan Farrell IME 233-01 January 11, 2011 Job Research: Work Design and Measurement The two Work Design and Measurement related jobs we found were for Ross Stores, Inc. and Tiffany & Co. Both companies have very similar responsibilities and requirements as can be shown below and on the following pages and are very similar to the course objectives from the syllabus. Responsibilities: writing up reports, giving presentation to clients & managers & being present at meetings analyzing data & utilizing computer modeling to increase efficiency of manufacturing processes planning out & administering maintenance & inspection schedules calculating timescales & costs of fitting new machinery, assessing fitting & development co-ordinating work of craftspeople & technicians drafting technical designs & plans using computer design software Manages / develops the Engineered Labor Standards for multi-variable production operations. Develops proper methods and procedures to be used for each production operation. Conducts time-study and builds standards reflecting the work content of the most efficient methods. Identifies and evaluates improvements in methods, procedures, and workflow that increase productivity, and decrease operating cost.
