Terrance McKnight CCPJ 5062 Dr. Vinson Extra Credit Assignment 11/11/09 1. Dorece’s learning experiences in high school affected her career decision making in the sense that because she excelled in all of her classes and had various extracurricular activities, she opened many career options which are available to her. In her case, this is not necessarily a positive, as it leaves her with an overwhelming amount of options to choose from. Early success in college has made this problem worse. Her love for English, discovered in her freshman college course, led to interests in English, Broadcast Journalism, and possibly Teaching; however, her father, boyfriend, and sisters, respectively, have deterred these aspirations. 2. Dorece is operating under the career belief that any career is a possibility for her. Using Gottfredson’s theory, she would likely have a very high tolerable-effort boundary, a very low tolerable-level boundary, and a tolerable sex-type boundary that shades far to the
