Ethics Issues in Business Shortly after completing my second term of obligated service for the US Navy I joined a mortgage company that from the outside was one of many similar companies that was each employee was living very well with the assumed mass fortune that each had acquired working there. Once I started work there, it did not take long to realize that the way the some employees operated was not up to snuff. Doing an initial loan or the majority of what was dealt with, a refinanced loan was an arduous task that would take different situations into account. The process could ultimately lead to a customer being a little more comfortable than before. Acquiring a completed loan to go all the way through is an interesting process. A customer had to qualify for a refinance through a few different issues pertaining specifically to credit and payment history. Once the customer agrees to actions in motion, the next step is to generate a physical appraisal of their home that the refinance is the subject of. Preparations of all the official papers begin once the package of paperwork is approved through the banks. A chosen notary or escrow officer who reviews each piece of paperwork and each signature required by the one or two clients receives the package in the mail. The ethics or rather lack of in this process can sometimes be construed as just wrong. The world is not as simple as right or wrong. Has it ever or will it ever, will most likely never be answered absolutely. People will do as they like unless a law is put in place to answer as consequence if such law were to be broken. Ethics can have a gray area that if an issue were to fit in that area, advantage could be taken without consequence. Either that, or legality is not
