NSW Sport and Recreation Running Your Club Marketing: SWOT analysis Before developing the marketing plan to help you achieve your future marketing objectives, you need to know where you are now, and why you are there. A useful way to get a clear picture of where you organisation is currently is by using the SWOT analysis. SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. By using the SWOT analysis you can identify where you stand in the market and from that point go ahead and make future plans based on the strength of your knowledge. Working through this process will give you a clearer idea of what it is that your organisation does well, what they need to improve on (strengths and opportunities) where your organisation has competition which can be defended (strengths and threats) where your organisation needs to change to product itself from outside influences (weaknesses and threats) where your organisation needs to look at its priorities (weaknesses and opportunities).
