Discussion Questions 1. Our disposal levels have risen to an alarming rate, but it is easy for the public to have an "out of sight out of mind" attitude about the disposal of solid and hazardous waste. In Week One we talked about the current trend to "Go Green" and while that may be viewed as a fashionable trend, control of our waste is becoming absolutely essential as our population grows. Discuss the "three R's" of waste reductions and which is most important. What are some steps that you can take to reduce personal waste production? Respond to at least two of your classmates' postings. - The three R’s associated with waste management are Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling. Some of the ways one can reduce personal waste include: using cloth instead of paper for cleaning purposes; preferring electronic mail over physical mail; avoiding the purchase of over-packaged products; preferring durable products over disposable products; purchasing necessities in bulk because they typically cost less and come with lesser packaging.
