LCBO Privatization GOAL: To continue to provide revenues to the Ontario government. Intervention: to incorporate Liquor Control Board of Ontario as a Crown corporation and to change from control-based distributor to customer focused retailer. Analysis of the Dimensions: Direct: This government intervention is direct because there is government action at A to privatize LCBO. This results in three things occurring at B as follows: 1. the goal to continue to provide revenues to the Ontario government was satisfied. 2. the intended result will be achieved. Ontario government received revenue from LCBO 3. a new state of equilibrium will be established. LCBO as a crown corporation and change from control-based distributor to customer focused retailer that bring much more benefit, Ontario government continue to receive revenue from LCBO. Reactive: This government intervention is reactive because it response to a superficial problem (provide revenue to Ontario government) without visible concern for underlying or roots causes. [Strategic] Coercive: This government intervention is coercive because the intent of government intervention to continue to provide revenues to the Ontario government brings about compliance. Quality determinants: Accuracy is greater because there are all the causal relationships associated with the direct dimension
