MOBILE COMMERCE (M-COMMERCE)
INTRODUCTION M-Commerce is a type of e - commerce conducted through mobile devices such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and other devices with a wireless connection. It is quite different from traditional of E-commerce.Any transaction with a business value that is conducted via a mobile telecommunications network is referred to as mobile commerce.
WHAT IS M-COMMERCE ?Mobile commerce, also called m-commerce or m commerce, includes any monetary transaction completed using a mobile device.It is an advancement of ecommerce, enabling people to buy and sell goods or services from almost anywhere, simply using a mobile phone or tablet device.
EMERGENCE OF M COMMERCEBirth of mobile commerce was in 1997 when the mobile phone enabled Coca-Cola vending machines were installed in Finland and the machine accepted payment via SMS text messages.The M-Commerce server developed in late 1997 by Kevin Duffey at Logica. Since the launch of the iPhone, mobile Commerce has moved away from SMS systems and into actual applications.In 1998 the first sales of downloadable ringtones were made possible in Finland by a company Radiolinja.In 1999, a mobile platform for mobile commerce was launched in Philippines (Smart money) . Most of countries now are offering train ticketing, Purchase of airline tickets, via the mobile devicesWith pervasive uses of mobile devices ,mobile commerce has become an important technological tool to reach out to customers in a more effective way than ever before.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF MOBILE COMMERCE1. Mobile shopping.:-Mostly similar toecommerce, but accessible via a mobile device. Mobile shopping is now possible through mobile optimized websites, dedicated apps, and even social media platforms.2. Mobile banking.Not too different to online banking, though you may find some transaction types are limited or restricted on mobile devices. Mobile banking usually involves a dedicated app, though some banks have started experimenting with the use of chatbots and messaging apps.3.
