January 21 2010 Lecture 7 – Mahabaratha Ramayana Valmiki Rama Sita Ravana Valmiki is the one that takes care of Sita after she’s banished Vishnu has to incarnate himself to do all this. There’s an interesting moment in the story when Ram kills Ravan and all the Gods get together and praise Ram. And then Vishnu’s memory is restored and he realizes he was human Mahbarath a Vyasa o Kri shna appears in the Mahabaratha as mature and experienced (like an adult) o The text that preceded Krishna; Bhagvata Purana o The re’s a sage who goes on a pilgrammage, and sees a daughter across the river (who was beautiful). The sage said if I get a child now there will be much good that happens to the world. The woman is embarrassed, the boat Is covered in mist o She ’s a boat man’s daughter, and she got the gift iof smelling like flowers instead of fishes o The child that is born is named “Vyasa” – the author of the epic o Vy asa decides to go off to the forest, but he says to his mother, if you ever need me,
