Hilliard 258-10-0169 July 5, 2010-October 22, 2010 MG 665 Lesson#6, Assignment 2 Study the case, "Dotsworth Press" on pages 270-274 of the text Management Communication: Principles and Practice (3 rd Edition). 1.How would you define the problem that has arisen between Dick Garanti and Mary Wilson? What aspects of the scene have particular bearing on the problem? For example, is Mary’s relationship to David Smith incidental or does it significantly complicate the situation? I would define the problems as a breakdown in communications. When Mary first came to Dotsworth she should have informed Dick of her career goals and asked was there room for advancement at Dotsworth. Dick also should have went the job description in detail with Mary. The scene that had particular bearing on the problem was when she first asked Dick to upgrade her job status from level 3 to a level 4 and when he declined she went above him and contacted Bob about the situation. I do believe that Mary’s relationship with David Smith is incidental but Bob about the situation....
