Rachel Riddle PHY 101 Lab #8 Procedure 1: Speed of Sound o Equipment Cylinder Tube Water Tuning Fork Meter Stick o Procedure 1A The tuning fork was 880 Hz D1= 13 cm D2= 23 cm D3= 37.5 cm o Procedure 1B o The (weight1) * (Distance1) approximately equaled (Weight2) * (distance2).  In the first  measure that we performed the two values were exactly equal, however in the following  measures they were off by one to eight values.  This could be due to the fact that we were  rushing to get done and also due to the fact that such a see saw contraption will not be  totally accurate.   o  The results of this experiment were that in a perfect world the weight multiplied by the  distance of two objects that are balanced is equal.   Procedure 2: Inclined Plane using protractor o Equipment Protractor Wooden Block Inclined plane
