Rachel Riddle PHY 101 Lab #5 Procedure 1 o Equipment Calculator o The data can be found in the packet. o The results of the experiment were that we were able to find the moment of inertia through some simple calculations. Procedure 2: o Equipment Simple algebra skills Calculator o The data is shown on the lab cover sheet o The results of the experiment were that we were able to calculate the conservation of angular momentum, using simple formulas and algebraic skills. Given these formulas we were able to conclude that indeed the conservation of angular momentum is true. Procedure 3: o Equipment Pencils 2 irregular paper shapes 1 regular paper shape String or a chalk board o There is no data just paper shapes which are stapled to this write-up.

Unformatted text preview: o The results of this experiment were that by punching holes in three different places of an object and hanging them with string you can find the center of gravity for an object. • Summary of Results o For procedure 1 the experiment resulted in discovering how to calculate a dancer’s moment of inertia using measurements and formulas. For procedure 2 the experiment showed that by using simple formulas you too can apply the conservation of angular momentum to everyday situations. Procedure 3 showed that you can find the center of gravity of an object by punching holes in it and hanging it on a string. You draw the lines from where the holes are punched and where the lines intersect is the center of gravity....

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
