Concordia University Course Syllabus TPER202 June 2 - 19 Introduction to Acting II Tuesday - Friday Prerequisite: TPER 201 9:00 – 13:00 Liz Valdez Office Hours liz17@sympatico.ca Monday- by appointment OVERALL OBJECTIVE The overall objective of the course is to build from the experience and skills introduced in TPER201, an introductory course in acting. Specifically, we will focus on understanding how to make and play an actor’s choices from a dramatic text, including building character and relationship, playing an action, connecting to the internal life of the character, and using space and object. Meeting an audience will also be part of the curriculum, and outcomes will be presented on the last day of classes, June 19th. SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES By the end of the course the students should be able to demonstrate an awareness of the following: - Deepen the work in an ensemble - Text analysis - Build a character, which includes finding the physical body of the character, wearing the clothing of the character, playing a character’s
