Rachel Riddle PHY 101 Lab #9 Procedure 1: Magnetic Fields o Equipment Magnets Iron files Pencil o See Data on Paper (sorry pictures are bad) o The results of this experiment were that by using different strength magnets you can make different patterns. The stronger the magnet the more control you have over the design. Procedure 2: Electricity and Magnetism o Equipment Light Bulb Power Supply Wires o The data can be found on the back of the lab sheet as well as some on the notebook paper. o The total voltage for procedure 2A is larger than the single bulbs because the bulbs are sharing the power supply. o The total voltage and the voltage for each light bulb is the same because there are two separate wires connected to each bulb and the power supply. The light bulbs are not sharing power. o The results of the experiment were that parallel circuits allow you to connect more than one device to a power supply at a time and still have

Procedure 2 demonstrated the difference in power between a series and a parallel circuit. The parallel circuit allows more power and is the most common today. The conclusions for procedure 3 were that you can make your own speaker and if you did it right it will work it just won’t sound that good....
