1 : Derika Harris Comp II – 1013.25 25 April 2011 Behind the Eye Eve’s Bayou, an independent African American film directed by Kasi Lemmon’s, based on the summer of 1962, is an extraordinary film to watch to expose the truth behind the Batiste family. The Batiste family is an upper class African American family who will discover more secrets than they could every possibly imagine this summer. Louise Batiste, who is the local town doctor, is a loving father and husband who has no idea that his infidelities is about to tear his perfect idea of a family apart. Cisely, who is the Louis’ older daughter, loves her father very much and believes that her mother Roz does not understand her father and thinks that she will push him away so she does whatever it takes to make her father happy so that he will not leave his family. Eve on the other hand, is exposed to her father’s infidelities and grows to hate her father and everything that he stands for. Something mind blowing and heart dropping happens between Louis and his daughter Cisely that leads Eve into doing something that she will
