F(t) = M(t)/n and M(t) is the number of observations with value less than or equal to t. We have even number. Rearrange the observation values from the lowest to the highest. In the middle (11 th and 12 th ), we have two values. Since both are 2, the median of t is 2. b) mean(t)=2.5, variance(t)= 0.8947 c) The plot indicates there may be a positive linear relationship between t and a. d) cov(t,a)=0.96. This shows there is a high positive linear relationship between t and a.
