CE93 Engineering Data Analysis Lab # 1 (January 19, 2011) In this lab, we will be looking at a dataset that contains information about the maximum number of motor vehicles being operated during peak times by a transit agency and the total operating cost of the agency. These data were obtained from the Federal Transit Administration ( www.fta.dot.gov ). 1. Open the data set veh.dat in Matlab. a. Go to the CE93 Spring 2011 bSpace site b. Go to Resources CE93 Resources Labs Lab1 c. Download the following files to your H-Drive (I would make a CE93 Folder, then a subfolder called Lab1) i. veh.dat ii. Lab1.pdf (instructions for lab) d. Open Matlab from the Start menu. e. In Matlab, open the veh.dat file i. Change your Matlab directory to your H Drive and Lab1 folder 1. (Click the button with three dots next to “current directory” and navigate to your H Drive and the Lab 1 Folder) ii. Go to File Import Data 1.
