Save “eventcount.m”, “randomwalk.m” , discrnd .m”, and “ NormFreq .m” to your Matlab home directory. 1. Let’s investigate the relationship between the exponential distribution and the Poisson distribution. We have learned in class that the time between events in a Poisson process follows an exponential distribution, and the counts of events in a Poisson process follows a Poisson distribution. a. First, create a random vector of 100 numbers from an exponential distribution with mean 2 (i.e. ±²³ ´ µ · ´ ¸¹¹ º ¹¶ ´ »¼½¹¾¿À¹Á¿ÂÃÿ³¹ÄÀ¿Å±ÃÃÆ . Hint: use the function exprnd( Ç ,1,n) where Ç is the mean of the exponential distribution, and n is the size of the 1 x n vector of random draws you want. b.
