Feb 21 st , 2011 Zexi Liu 53:50 I am going to critique the article “The perils of plastic”. The article was selected in the TIME magazine and was written by Bryan Walsh. A hard copy of the article is stapled underneath. The article talks about the chemicals in plastic-made goods contain an enough amount of potentially dangerous chemicals like bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, important ingredients in modern plastics, in our bodies to make some damages. The author also writes about how hard it is to make EPA proves that BPA and phthalates are dangerous. The environmental problem is that not until the EPA proves that BPA and phthalates are dangerous to human bodies, people will not be suffering the pain that those chemicals bring them anymore. I think the environmental problem and solution was described accurately. For one reason, BPA and phthalates are proven to be toxic to our health by lots of researches. Two years ago, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reversed its previously lax stance on BPA, and is now with the Department of Health’s as well as
