Unformatted text preview: This topic always interested me, because sleep is integral part of our life. Every person began to fall asleep at certain time every night. He is disconnected from external word. This process takes 1/3 of human’s life and is called sleep. The nature of sleep and dreams interested human’s brain all the time. It is understandably, because sleep is a mysterious state, in which person is contained more than 8 hours every day and which is accompanied with strange psychical work – dreams. Not long ago we divided our life into 2 stages: to be awaked and to sleep. Now it is time to refuse this. While experimenting with sleep scientists recognized a lot of interesting facts. Everybody has 2 stages of sleeps: fast and slow. When person sleep in fast sleep, his hands, legs, eyelids are moving. It gives the impression that person see and outlive something. Another sleep is slow sleep. I t is also called deep sleep. When person sleep in slow sleep, he is motionless.maybe some people said to you: “i don’t dream”. But it is not true. Scientists watched after person, who was asleep. And when he began to sleep in fast sleep, they woke him up and asked him about his dreams. The experimental recalled all dreams. Scientists assumed that people saw dreams in such moments. And it was really so. But when scientists woke him up after slow sleep, the experimental persuaded that he did not see dreams. The reason was that he forgot them being under effect of slow sleep. So, every person has 3 stages of life: to be awaked, to sleep in fast sleep and in slow sleep. These 2 stages of sleep are very different and people need them. Taking everything into consideration, it is clear that people cannot live without this. Sleep is a behavioral state characterized by little physical activity and almost no awareness of the outside world. Sleep is actually made up of two separate and distinctly different states called rem sleep (rapid eye movement) and nrem sleep (non-rapid eye movement). With nrem sleep it is further divided into stage 1-4 based on the size and the speed of the brain waves. Step one is the stage when you drift off to sleep or doze off. For example people doze off in class because you are bored and have nothing to do but listen to the teacher talk. Some parents may call it a cat nape when their kids go to sleep for about ten minutes or so. The second stage is called an intermediate stage of sleep. That is when the sleeper will gradually descend deeper into sleep, becoming more and more detached from the outside world and progressively more difficult to awaken. Stage three is the beginning of deep sleep, occurring about thirty to forty five minutes after you first fall asleep....
