Freshman Admissions F RESHMAN C HECKLIST To expedite the application process, submit right away: Undergraduate Admissions Application Use your full legal name (no nicknames, please) on all items submitted. You must include your Social Security Number on your application if you wish to be considered for financial aid. Youmay onlysubmitone application. If you need to change your major or co-op selection after submitting your application, please contact Admissions at [email protected] or 1-800-2-DREXEL; international students may dial 1-215-895-2400. Application Fee, $75 (waived if you applyon campus or online at www.drexel.edu/ugapp ) Submit before admission deadline: Essay All applicants mustsubmit a 250 to 500 wordessayonlineat www.drexel.edu/apply/essay. Wedo not acceptessayssubmittedon paper. Westphal College of Media Arts & Design applicants: Relate your essay topic to your interest in your intended major. If you are applying to an accelerated degree program in the Westphal College, your essay topic should relate to your selected major and indicate why you are a good candidate for the program. Accelerated degree applicants (except BA/BS/MD and BA/BS/JD): You should describe the factors that influenced your decision to pursue an accelerated degree in your chosen profession. • BA/BS/JD applicants: Qualified applicants will be requested to sub- mit an additional essay. • BA/BS/MD applicants should refer to the College of Medicine Supplemental Application at www.drexel.edu/apply/bsmd for specific essay topics. • BS/PhD applicants must also describe any research involvement. BS/MS in Psychology applicants: Qualified applicants will be requested to submit an additional essay. Custom-Designed major applicants: Qualified applicants will be requested to submit additional admission materials. All other applicants: You may write about why you are interested in your choice of major or you may write on any subject you choose. Transcripts Official transcripts must be sent directly from your high school to Drexel. You are required to submit transcripts from each high school attended. Transcripts must reflect 9th, 10th, and 11th grade coursework and grades earned. A transcript request form is included for your use. Letters of Recommendation Two letters of recommendation are required. At least one must be com- pleted by a high school counselor. Forms are available on pages 7 and 8. Recommendations on official letterhead will also be accepted. Letters of recommendation may also be submitted electronically at www.drexel.edu/apply/recommend . If you are applying to the BA/BS/MD accelerated degree program, your letters must be from a high school counselor and a science teacher.
