User Manual for truss2d.m, Professor B.V. Sankar, University of Florida, Gainesville The program truss2d.m reads data from truss2d_data.xls . It also needs the subroutine stiff1.m . These three files should be in one folder. The output is written to the text file, output.m . The data file has several worksheets. The data in each worksheet are as follows. Worksheet name Data description Nodes This worksheet has just the number of nodes in the Cell A1 Nelms Enter number of elements in A1 x Enter the x and y coordinates of the nodes in ascending order of node number. NBC The boundary condition code for each node is entered in this worksheet. A ‘0’ indicates that the displacement is zero (constrained), and ‘1’ means the DOF is free. Each node has 2 DOFs, u and v . The nodes are in ascending order node This is the connectivity information in the ascending order of element numbers. Each element has two nodes, first and second node.
