CHECKPOINT: MODERN CHALLENGES IN IMMIGRATION 2 Checkpoint: Modern Challenges in Immigration Should United States government policy favor certain kinds of immigrants? I don’t think that the US government’s policy should favor anyone for any reason. Even though current policies favor skilled immigrants which does help our economy. I still believe that we as Americans are all equal, and that includes any immigrants that come here. I think that to favor anyone for those reasons would be unconstitutional we should give everyone a chance to try. Should citizenship preference be given to the neediest applicants? The most talented? The most Oppressed? The richest? I think that preference should be given to immigrants that have a good moral character. I don’t feel that being the neediest, or the most talented, oppressed or even the richest
