Denise Rodriguez #2925422 MMC3104C May 26, 2010 Strawberry Fields Forever The site of the strawberry field overwhelmed me. I could see now why The Beatles could get inspired enough to write a song about this site I was experiencing. With a new year, always comes the tradition of going to pick strawberries with my sister-in-law, Cristie. The simple things in life are the ones that bring me pure, genuine happiness. The joy I receive from the simple fact of picking strawberries with my sister is far more a greater amount than going shopping or engaging in any materialistic activity. When we go to the strawberry field, it’s like an adventure. We always know what is going to happen, but it’s always a different experience. Depending on the current state of our minds, the simple fact of picking strawberries always seems different.

As I pick up the strawberries that others may deem damaged, I think about the damaged relationships I have in my life, one of them being my sister. Calling Cristie my sister-in-law, just seems so cold and robotic; she is so much more than that; she’s truly my sister. I have an actual birth
