Sweetest Dreams Inn After analyzing Phan’s current situation, I would recommend that he turn his Sweetest Dreams Inn into a Holiday Inn. I would make this recommendation based on both marketing mix opportunities, and financial implications. Phan should first make married/ dating couples his new target market. According to the information provided by the regional tourist bureau, the majority of the visitors to the area are couples (young and old) who prefer recreational activities at their hotels. These people are also generally well-off financially, and thus are probably more likely to spend more money for a better hotel product. Phan could then alter his product by investing in a restaurant attached to the hotel, or a swimming pool. He could exploit his target market’s willingness to spend on extra amenities by charging additional fees for restaurant use. This would be a good strategy to potentially attract many of the people who “drive into his parking lot, look around, but then don’t come inside.” The restaurant would give these individuals more reason to stay at the hotel, as they would
