He is an alumni of my Sigma Chi chapter and graduated from McCombs with a degree in accounting in the Spring of 2008. Occupational: 1. What degree or certification do employers look for? They look for a bachelor of sciences or accounting and all the parts of the CPA exam passed. They are usually impressed when they see a masters in accounting. 2. How does some obtain work experience? Volunteering for treasury positions in clubs, or an internship with an accounting firm. Another nice way is to get experience is being a part time clerk during the summer or even tax season. 3. Which skills are most important to acquire? Paying attention to detail is probably the most important, followed even closer by good organization. I t also comes in handy to have a good memory and be inept with numbers. Always have a good intuitive sense of anomalies....
