CHM 1045 EXAM 3 STUDY GUIDE Exam 3 will be given on Tuesday, April 6 th , at 6:30 pm, in the usual classroom at Dyson Pharmacy Bld. Alternative exam will be given in the afternoon similarly to the first two exams. This exam will cover chapters 6 and 7 from the text. Here is an out line of the topics: Chapter 6: Energy and Chemical Change Understand the law of conservation of energy, define kinetic and potential energy What is internal energy What is a state function Define calorie, heat capacity, specific heat. Know the units. Be able to relate the heat gained or lost, with the heat capacity, mass and temperature changes and apply this in problem solving. Exothermic and endothermic reactions
