Jake Sebastian Jas07019 9/23/10 Janikowski The main point of this article is that gangs are more than just their stereotypical delinquents of society. In fact, these unique organizations are very productive, particularly in an entrepreneurial sense. The article talks about five attributes that gangs have that represent entrepreneurial character or demonstrate common entrepreneurial behavior. These five attributes are competitiveness, the desire and drive to accumulate money and material possessions, status seeking, ability to plan, and the ability to undertake risks. A gang’s competitiveness and desire and drive to accumulate money and material possessions are what keep the gang alive and functioning. The article refers to Darwinist views on how the gang world works in which only the strongest survive, stating how it doesn’t matter to them how the other person on the end of a particular business deal may see themselves in an unfair situation. While doing this, the members of the gang are looking to improve themselves by getting involved in business. Being
