Definitions Client An application program that establishes connections by sending a request to a server. The server then processes the request and sends a response back to the client. Server An application program that accepts connections in order to service requests by sending back responses. Cache A program or subsystem store the response messages and controls its message storage, retrieval, and deletion Caching Refers to the storage of recently web objects like (HTML pages, images and files) close to the user for future reference. Where if there is another request for the same URL, it can use the response that it has, instead of asking the origin server for it again. Reduce latency Latency: the time users are waiting for pages to load. Cache make the pages load faster -- because the request is satisfied from the cache (which is closer to the client) instead of the origin server, transmission delays are much lower. This makes the Web seem more responsive Reduce the bandwidth Used by a client -- because contents are reused. Thus, fewer requests and responses that need to go over the network.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
