Character Synopsis THOMAS STUART Protagonist. Age 21. Male Proposer. Very introverted college senior majoring in computer science. Currently works at local Publix but is working towards a job with a top name gaming company. Lives with mother because father died in combat. In love with REBECCA but terrified of open rejection and crowds. REBECCA MORRIS Super Objective. Age 23. Female Love Interest. Very outgoing and dominating but genuinely kind in her own way. Owns her own ballet studio which is quickly becoming reputable. Wishes THOMAS would propose but fears he never will. DIANE MORRIS Antagonist. Age 49. Mother of REBECCA and wife of MIKE who is never satisfied and is very controlling behind the scenes. Highly disapproving of THOMAS and considers him the worst suitor. Overly dominating over her husband, but never wants anyone to think badly of her or her marriage. MIKE MORRIS Quintessential Character. Age 53. Father of REBECCA and husband of DIANE who approves of THOMAS and the pending engagement. Very easy going, passive, but wants his daughter to always be happy. Loves his wife, though does not understand her sometimes. KAREN STUART Quintessential Character. Age 39. Mother of THOMAS. Quiet but powerful figure. Has been a single mom since her son’s early years; former hippie. MILAN Quintessential Character. Age 22. Best friend to THOMAS who always wants him to succeed. Cocky but always stands by his friend. TONY PERROTA Quintessential Character. Age 25. The other man that DIANE MORRIS has in mind for her daughter. Has tried to date REBECCA for years but always meets rejection. Very cocky, aristocratic, know-it-all but not a high emotional I.Q., and wealthy from his father’s stock trading company.

Scene I Setting: Morris family kitchen with Diane and Mike Morris sitting at the table enjoying lunch. A door bell rings and Mrs. Morris answers. THOMAS He….he….hello Mrs. Morris.

Start getting on one knee Running off Get up face audience Start pulling Thomas away and then run out door End at DCS (While DIANE speaks) DIANE and THOMAS cross to table to sit with MIKE. DIANE makes sure to sit beside her husband, upstaging him but also holding his hand. DIANE Why Tommy hello! Good to see you! It’s been so long since your last visit, how are you my boy? I’ll say since Becky left we haven’t really seen much of you have we? THOMAS
