The functionalist theory demonstrates society is divided into two main groups, the majority and  the minority. The functionalist theory suggests racism is a part of the way society operates.  Society requires different levels of positions. They believe a society is not balanced in terms of  race, because it is natural for one group of people to be superior over others.  How would symbolic interactionists explain this problem?
