WHY SOME OF MODERN MOTIVATION TOOLS DOES NOT WORK IN PRACTICE AS GOOD AS IN THEORETICAL MODEL? First of all we need to say what is motivation. according to the Columbia electronic encyclopedia: motivation, in psychology, the intention of achieving a goal, leading to goal- directed behavior . Let me also quote Wikipedia Motivation is the driving force which help causes us to achieve goals. Now as we know what motivation is let me bring you some more theory. first of all we need to divide motivation into Extrinsic and Intrinsic.  Intrinsic motivation is  when  you  want to do something. Extrinsic motivation is when somebody else tries to make you do  something. Then we can also mention positive and negative motivation. So gaining sth and  getting away of sth we want to avoid. Now you see that in the simpliest model we have 4 kinds of motivation, how many of them you  think can be successful? All, 3 no the only motivation that wiil work in the long run is positive
