Marketing, Pandering and Trading It is defined by oxford dictionary that marketing is the process of performing market research, selling products or services to customers and promoting them via advertising to further enhance sales. However, marketing just equaling to pandering is a common misconception. The reasons should be clearly figured out from the definition: First, marketing includes both selling and promoting. Marketing has derived from the term Market. Market is a place where products or services are sold upon promoting them. So marketing is the process of developing a market place for the products or services to be sold. But pandering is just the method used for selling the products or services. It does little good to the band and market of the firm as well as the products or services. Second, marketing is an integrated process through which companies build strong customer relationships and create value for their customers and for themselves. In a word, marketing is used to identify the customer, to satisfy the customer, and to keep the customer. Whereas the
