1. INTRODUCTION Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is a Bangkok local bus company, which is a government organization that operates under the umbrella of Ministry of Transport. Since bus service of BMTA involves public affairs, the company primarily aims to provide bus service throughout Bangkok and Perimeters with small price so that it is affordable for low-to-medium income people. BMTA bus service fair therefore is sometime below cost, thus company’s survival depend highly on the government subsidies. The company vision furthermore is to be professional in providing bus service throughout Bangkok and Perimeters. This report describes internal supply chain of BMTA including the strategies being applied. It also analyzes the performance of supply chain, importance of management module, common practices in supply chain. In addition, it recommends areas of improvement for entirely internal supply chain of BMTA. 2. INTERNAL SUPPLY CHAIN OF BMTA BMTA’s bus service chain initiate with purchasing and HR department, the product from purchasing department was then supplied to bus garage and lastly department of bus operation. Human resources including bus drivers, bus conductors, audits, and offices are supplied by HR department to also department of bus operation. The information flow on the other hand include every department, moreover, all data have to be record in mean of statistic and accounting. 2.1 Supply Chain Process Mapping There are two type of BMTA buses, air bus and regular bus, the spare parts thus are supplied for bus maintenance separately to each type of bus. The procurement is carried out both periodically and non-periodically. Supply chain finally need by handle around 1.1 million customers daily (BMTA 2009a).
