Social change refers to an alteration in the social order of a social group or society. This would be change in nature, social institutions, social behaviors or social relations. This term is basic and needs to be explained further. Social movements are classified by the type of change they seek, and how much change takes place. Some good examples of social change are the French revolution which happened in the late 18 th century. Another is the labor movement and socialist movement which lead to the formation of communist parties. Modernization is the central concept of social change which refers to the present in relation to the past. Some examples of modernization are computers compared to handwriting things. The modernization to computers increased speed. We also see modernization is technology from walking to automobiles. That was a huge act of modernization. The way we research information has change, no need to go to a library when you have a library online. And my last example is the modernization from using animals for transportation to depending on oil for our transportation....
