This land begins at a place they call Ketchikan And runs north to a place they call Nome a majestic land with god's finest animals A land these brothers have made their home Once there were so many Now there are so few Once there were so many Oh what did we do In its seas the seals die by the thousands Just so rich ladies have fur on a coat The great salmon disappear by the millions hauled away on some rich man's boat After years of rumin (?) salmon fight their way up river coming back to creek life at the place of their birth the rushing clear water becomes a dark trickle nothing ahead but torn red earth Brown bear poses for cameras in the summer Brown bear is fishing, man is having fun He poses once more, ‘neath the gold leaves of autumn
