Final Exam HUM/114 Version 3 1 University of Phoenix Material Final Exam Access the Electronic Reserve Readings link in the Week Five section of your student Web site. Select one of the following topics and read both articles that present opposing sides of the argument surrounding that topic. o Animal experimentation o Outsourcing o Media violence Answer the following questions in paragraphs of approximately 100 words demonstrating your critical and creative thinking skills. 1. Identify if the topic you chose—as presented by both articles—is a problem or an issue, and explain what makes it a problem or an issue. If you believe the articles present both problems and issues, identify and explain what the problems are and what the issues are. The topic that I chose is the Media Violence I feel that this is an issue because this is a matter about which intelligent informed people disagree to some extent. The articles itself present both problems and issues because on one side of the argument they seem to believe that violence is caused by the amount of exposure that a person has when they are viewing television shows that violence is a desirable way to solve problems and I feel that is a problem. But on the other hand there is also an issue in this situation because of studies they have found that viewing violence in the media changes attitudes and behaviors 2. Were the problems or issues expressed effectively? Describe how the problems or issues were or were not best expressed. I do not feel that these problems or issues were best expressed. I do not feel that this issue was expressed well; I feel that they did identify the challenge but I do not feel that they expressed the problem well at all. It was too general for them to be able to refine the expression and I do not feel it was a good argument that was put up. 3.
