Caffrey Francis October 14, 2010 Dr. Mcquillan T/TH- 4:30-5:45 Outline Thesis- Odysseus and Oedipus self-hood’s are similar because they both were very dedicated to their country in which they ruled. Examples 1. Odysseus was continuously dedicated in getting back to his homeland, Ithaca to the extent that he continuously risked his life. a. Odysseus was a man who knew himself well. He knew he was born to rule his country for his people, and he never lost sight of this. As he spent years trapped on Kalypso’s Island, he fantasized for the day he would be with his family and rule his country again. The day finally came, when goddess Kalypso set Odysseus free to go back to his homeland. Although he knew his journey home would be risking his life, he knew his dedication towards his homeland
