As any organization might have, Berkeley College has departments varying from registration, admissions, student accounts, financial aid, the center for academic success (CAS), the library, etc. The three departments that I chose are admissions, the library, and financial aid. Starting with admissions, I called the extension number and a work study student picked up. His job is to encourage and influence a target audience, such as newly high school graduates, to choose Berkeley as their top choice. When I called, he immediately picked up the phone in a very friendly and polite manner. My question to him was, “If I was a student interested in attending Berkeley, what kind of scholarships would I be able to obtain?”. His response was, “I usually don’t have any knowledge on their situation, so I can’t give them any information regarding any awards they can get from Berkeley, but I always encourage them to take a tour andset up an appointment with someone who can provide them the answers they need”.
