Our world is currently dependent on non renewable energy resources such as fossil fuels and coal. These energy resources are non renewable, so it’s only a matter of time before they are depleted. The most known alternative energy resource is solar energy, but unfortunately the majority of people do not put money towards solar energy because it is so expensive and its years before people actually see any return on their investment. Our world needs to stop using non renewable energy resources and turn towards: biofuels, geothermal energy, and wave energy because unlike the alternative energy resource solar energy these will be the next generation of energy resources. Biofuels are gradually gaining public attention because of the increasing concern over greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and spikes in oil prices. Biofuels are basically turning Algae into fuel. It is biodegradable which means it’s harmless to the environment and the United States Department of Energy estimates that if algae fuel did replace our oil now it would only take 15,000 square miles.
