Last Summer, I started to work as a tennis coach at Sweetwater Tennis Center. I was primarily the coach for children and for children with special needs (special athletes). I have had the pleasure of working with Jim Hamm the Director of Special Populations. Special Pop's is a non- profit organization that helps people with special needs get involved in the game of tennis. Since meeting Jim Hamm, I have been certified as a PTR tennis instructor and have had the opportunity to work as a drill instructor at Racket Club of The South during a Special Pops Tournament. I am currently working on becoming a unified doubles partner and have recently attended the PTR Wheelchair Tennis Workshop. In the process of all of this, I would like to introduce Special Pops to the community. My goal is to spread the word that Special Pops is completely FREE, builds social skills and promotes a healthy way to live. I would also like to introduce Special Pop's and Jim Hamm to the high schools in our area by doing a Special Pop's clinic. During these clinics, the kids with special needs who attend the local high school would come out for a couple hours to learn the sport of tennis. We can hold the clinic after school on the school tennis courts. I
