This article discussed the difference in how McDonald’s serving Japan versus the United States. The company in Japan is still, in essence, in touch with its company in the U.S. The core competency is still the beef. They are producing what seems to please their Japanese customers. However, the authors show how the burgers which are specials on found in Japan happen to be unhealthier than the burgers produced in the U.S. The difference in the population is what allows this food chain to remain in business. While the U.S. holds the number 1 spot for adults being overweight, 67%, Japan falls in 4 th place with 23%. Although of the drop in the economy and Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average, McDonald’s stock continues to rise. McDonald’s say that their strategy on how they release new burgers
