BIO 119 McCague File-002 Papers or Projects Each student in the course has the option of demonstrating his creative ability through carrying out a laboratory experimental project or writing an original paper. The goal of this option is two-fold: (1) to allow you to investigate a particular subject or area not covered elsewhere in the course, and (2) to allow you to demonstrate your ability to use your basic knowledge and to synthesize a meaningful product. Requests for permission to do a paper, project, or even an instructional unit on a subject not covered, must be turned in to your instructor by the end of week 6. The completed paper, project, or unit must be turned in by the end of week 15 (See schedule). Below are some guidelines and suggestions. Papers Papers are to be creative work, not just a collection of copies of paraphrased paragraphs from other sources. The paper will be judged on originality, thoroughness, and success in achieving the stated purposes or objectives. There is no limit to length. When the paper is
