Open-Ended Design Project EML 4551 - Capstone Design (Fall 1996) Goal/Purpose: Apply the fundamentals developed in the mechanical engineering curriculum to an individual design project. The fundamentals and software for computer-aided-design and analysis are implemented into the design project. Objectives: Design a deep-throat C-clamp and all associated components, if necessary (see the figure below). The clamp should be designed with the following criteria in mind: performance (i.e., uniform stress throughout and below allowable levels), minimum weight, creativity & aesthetics, marketability, reliability and durability, cost effectiveness, and manufacturability. x y Striker Body Grip, g Tommy Bar Depth, d Anvil Hub Power Screw Ball

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
