Caitlin McGowan QU 101 – Section 69 TuTh 3:30-4:45 Prof. Engelsgaard December 5, 2010 Statement of Self-Involvement Why am I in college? One of the major reasons I came to college is to obtain a profession. I’ve always had the mind-set of going to college to become successful. In order to get accepted into the Masters of Arts in Teaching program at Quinnipiac, there are high expectations. Ever since I was young, I have always had an aspiration to be a teacher. I have worked with kids in the past and I truly enjoy doing it. The past two summers I worked as a camp counselor. Throughout the school year, I volunteered at my local recreational center helping special needs children learn how to play sports. While working with these children they made me realize the satisfaction of being able to teach children new things. By helping them with their day-to-day challenges I was truly motivated. I’ve had several jobs throughout my high school career. Having a job just wasn’t
