Subject list: ECE 2100, Prelim 2 1) Everything from prelim 1 2) Complex formulation of an arbitrary sinusoid 3) Phasor transform of sinusoidal components 4) Phasor transform of linear ODEs 5) Be able to translate amplitude and phase shifts into phasor domain 6) Be able to translate phasors between Cartesian and polar descriptions 7) Be able to plot phasors in the complex plane. 8) Be able to perform standard arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, take roots, etc) of complex numbers. 9) Know equivalent complex impedances of electronic components (R, L, C) 10) Be able to compute complex impedances of RLC circuits. 11) Be able to compute transfer functions (relating Vin to Vout) in complex domain. 12) In particular, be able to recognize what happens when ω = ω o of an RLC circuit. 13) Be able to use phasors and complex math to compute sinusoidal steady-state responses of circuits (ie amplitude and phase shifts). 14) Be able to plot input and output sinusoids with appropriate amplitude and phase shifts. 15)
