CLUB IT: PART 2 2 Club IT: Part 2 Club IT already has some information systems in place; however more are necessary if Club IT has any hopes of living up to its name. As of now there is no customer relationship management software, enterprise resource management software of supply chain management software of any kind being implemented by Club IT. Club IT is operating on a dial-up connection and the Club IT website is lacking interactive features. Service is sometimes slow because an effective ordering system has not yet been implemented (Club IT, 2010). Business Problems Microsoft offers software by the name of Dynamics. This software offers customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. The ERP software also incorporates supply chain management (SCM) into itself Microsoft Dynamics CRM offers the following: Simple Contact Management o Shared Contact Information o Centralized Activity Management o Global Activity Scheduling o Work Assignment and Tracking o Automated Follow-up Rules Better Sales Performance o Lead Tracking and Routing o Territory Management o Opportunity Management o Real-time Quote Engine

CLUB IT: PART 2 3 o Sales Process Management o Customizable Dashboard Better Economics o Role-based advisor o Simple to Configure (Microsoft Corporation, 2010). Microsoft Dynamics ERP offers the following: Easy to use Designed to fit smoothly with existing IT systems Built to meet needs now and in the future Broad capabilities across applications in the following departments: financial management, human Resource management, project management, supply chain management, executive management, IT management, collaboration, Business Intelligence, Financial Planning and Budgeting (Microsoft Corporation, 2010). Before any of the information technology problems can be solved these systems must first be implemented. Web Services The first problem that Club IT has with its information technologies is that currently Club IT is operating with dial-up Internet access (Club IT, 2010). The only benefit to dial-up over high-speed Internet is the price (Rainer & Turban, 2009). The disadvantages of dial-up Internet are many, first with a dial-up connection the phone lines are tied up as long as the Internet is in use, therefore when the Internet is in use important business calls cannot be made or received. Another disadvantage of a dial-up connection the use of credit card machines, as long as one credit card is being run, all other machines will be waiting for their turn to dial up to the server to authorize a credit card, and this
