AUDIENCE ANALYSIS 2 Audience Analysis As the Global Sales manager I have been called upon to present the quarterly sales report at an in person meeting to a group of stakeholders: managers, salespeople, and customers. In preparation for this meeting I have to consider the different needs of each of the stakeholders and their expectations at this meeting. With this information I have to determine the most appropriate communication channel in which to present the information. I also have to consider the challenges of the diversity of the audience. Finally I have to determine the manner in which I can ensure the effectiveness of the message. In this paper I will explain the different considerations that I will have to make as I attempt to analyze the audience for the sales meeting (Locker & Kienzler, 2008). Audience Characteristics for Consideration The stakeholders which will be in attendance at the quarterly sales meeting are managers, salespeople, and customers. Special considerations have to be taken for each of these groups when considering the communication channel in which the quarterly sales meeting should be presented (Locker & Kienzler, 2008). Managers The managers are my primary audience; the information in the quarterly sales report affects them the most. They are the audience members in which my message has to satisfy the most. Managers will expect an oral presentation that is thorough and professional, they will expect visuals in the form of detailed charts and graphs to accompany the oral presentation, and they will expect a paper copy of the quarterly sales report (Locker & Kienzler, 2008).
