Poems become a good way for poets to express their love. “Sonnet 18” is the eighteenth sonnet in Shakespeare’s sonnet. Many people claim that “Sonnet 18” is the finest jewelry in Shakespeare’s crown. In “Sonnet 18” the speaker also praises his beloved to show his love the difference is that he wants to use this poem to let his beloved receives the eternal life. Many people think this poem is focus on beauty however I think it is more about love. Just laud his beloved’s beauty is not enough to show his love. He wants people can remember his beloved’s beauty forever, and his beloved can live forever in the poem also, his love can ever last. In order to show his love the speaker compares his beloved to summer’s day. By comparing the speaker finds his beloved is lovelier than the summer’s day, but he also notices that his beloved’s beauty can not last long, so the speaker uses poem to immortalize his beloved. The speaker chooses summer’s day as a compare object to praises his beloved’s beauty. Summer’s day has many shortcomings in speaker’s eyes. Summer is colorful and lively. In the summer all kinds of flowers blooms, and warm wind blows. However The speaker thinks the winds in summer are “rough”. “Rough
