PROBLEMS AT JETBLUE 2 Problems at JetBlue JetBlue’s main cause of their business meltdown stemmed from their technological issues. They did not have a well integrated IT system in place. Passenger service and transportation has to be handled in an appropriately responsible manner. The JetBlue situation could have been averted if they had developed an effective and comprehensive operating plan transportation services. Their information systems were inadequate and should have been upgrade, at minimum to allow them to deal with unforeseen situations and in this case rebooking flights and rerouting luggage. Training should have been undertaken by the leadership to ensure that management procedures and processes me the company and passengers needs. From a management perspective, JetBlue failed to think ahead and think of how to handle different types of worst-case scenarios or disaster scenarios. JetBlue managers only planned on
